I surprised my husband with a birthday trip for his big 40th. I tried to keep it all a secret but mistakenly let slip our first destination but I managed to keep the second one a surprise.. watch as I reveal the destination to him..
We started in Zagreb, Croatia for a 3 nights hotel and then took a 7 hour bus drive to Venice for 2 nights. I have added a short motivational reel at the end.
I am a big advocate for “Me time” because for the sake of your mental wellbeing you need time to yourself weather to take a nap, go for a walk or read a book… time where you can hear your own thoughts 💭
This will help you recharge and come back as a better parent, partner, child and friend✨
However, it is also important to try to make time for your spouse or partner.. life can get hectic and if you don’t slow down.. you won’t see the years pass with no memories created..
Also when you become parents, at first it is all about the kids and then it becomes kids, work and the your partner but we have to learn to nourish our relationship too for the sake of the children and your mental wellbeing. So when and if you can.. make some time for your partner and it doesn’t have to be anything big..
When our kids were small and we couldn’t go to the restaurant.. we make the kids eat and then we will have dinner for 2 while they are playing
Or when they go to sleep, we would do a movie night 🍿 or take them to the playground while we both sit and watch them.. even that is “couples time”.
Not everyone has the luxury of a babysitter or a family member to mind their kids.. you have to look for work arounds.
The flame 🔥 in a relationship dies when it is not nurtured 💕 it doesn’t take much, just a little efforts on both side 😘
